The annual Sunday Times Generation Next Awards took place at Montecasino on Thursday. The awards, in its eighth year, honours some of SA’s biggest brands and celebrities. Over 6000 youths between the ages of 8 and 22 from different backgrounds were surveyed by marketing company HDI. Bonang Matheba was the MC for the afternoon’s activities, which saw the likes of BlackBerry, Engen, Guess, DJ Black Coffee, Sophie Ndaba, Trevor Noah and Liquideep all winning awards.
