So you will know that I traveled to the USA recently for a vacation. I flew Emirates to the city that I love, but obviously it was a long ass flight. Luckily there was some great in-flight entertainment on board and one of the shows was called The Musketeers. What was really great about this offering is that the entire boxset was available for us to watch – the only way things should be watched really. I love these sorts of shows and I’ve always been a fan of Alexandre Dumas’ The Musketeers, so it was an an sell really. Let me tell you, this show lived up to my expectations. It’s action-packed, funny, epic and just that rad.
And now South African audiences will get to see the guys in the flesh. The Musketeers are jetting into SA on the 25th of this month for a special preview screening. If you don’t get to see them in real life, you can watch the ten-part show on BBC Entertainment, as of the 30th of this month. It will air at 21:00 on channel 120 on DStv. Who are the Musketeers? Well they are Tom Burke as Athos, Santiago Cabrera as Aramis, Howard Charles as Porthos, Luke Pasqualino as d’Artagnan and Maimie McCoy as Milady.
Executive Producer Jessica Pope says “I’m thrilled that the show will be premiering in South Africa and we look forward to welcoming the South African audience to the Musketeer family.”
Kully Kaur-Bains, Head of Programming, South Africa, BBC Worldwide, commented: “We’re extremely excited to be bringing the lead actors from The Musketeers to South Africa for its exclusive premiere on BBC Entertainment. The show is a huge global success having sold to more than 140 territories around the world, and I’m sure the South African audience will enjoy the drama and emotion of this fantastic series.”
I was one of the 140million people who has watched it, will you be part of the next million or so? It really is that rad!!!
