The Top four are living it up in London town at the moment, but only three of them will get to sing for your votes this coming Sunday. This week the top three will sing not one, not two but three songs for you – and this is what they will be singing:
Round one – Songs from the year they were born:
Bongi Silinda will sing Phil Collins’s 1990 hit, “Another Day in Paradise”.
Lize Mynhardt will sing the 1993 hit “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” from the Scottish one-hit-wonders The Proclaimers.
London Louw will sing Sinéad O’ Connor’s “Nothing Compares To U”, from 1990.
Vincent Bones will sing Lionel Richie’s “Stuck On You”, from the year he was born, 1984.
Round two – Personal favourites
Bongi will sing Drake’s hit “Find Your Love”.
Lize is going with the Leonard Cohen standard “Hallelujah”
London goes uptempo with The Darkness’s “I Believe in a Thing Called Love”
Vincent chose a contemporary hit from newcomer Sam Smith, “Stay With Me”.
Round three – Songs chosen by the Idols producers
Bongi drew Lana Del Rey’s “Young & Beautiful”
Lize they chose the Kanye hit “Church In The Wild”
London got Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”
Vincent has to prepare the John Legend ballad, “You & I (Nobody In The World)”.
Nice song choices… I think we’re definitely going to see Bongi and Vincent and my gut tells me London will be singing too. Who knows what SA has decided, in terms of the voting. We’ll find out on Sunday I guess. Another thing I’m looking forward to seeing this week is who mentored the four this week. If they’re in London, I’m almost certain they’ve pulled out the big dogs. Who could it be? Find out on Sunday evening on M-Net and Mzansi Magic at 17:00 or visit www.mnet.co.za/idolssa for all the latest news.
