Ziphozakhe Zokufa is the new Miss South Africa. The announcement was made yesterday, following the news of Rolene Strauss being announced as Miss World at the weekend. Ziphozakhe was named the first princess earlier this year. The first princess is expected to step into the role should the current title holder not be able to perform her duties, be it personally or professionally. In this case, Rolene now has a bigger role in the form of Miss World, so Ziphozakhe will represent the country for the next few months. She’s hard at work already, prepping for Miss Universe in January, so it’s going to be a busy few weeks for the young Port Elizabeth resident.
On taking over from Rolene, Zokufa said, “I got to know Rolene well during the run up to Miss South Africa 2014 earlier this year and was thrilled when she was crowned Miss World at the weekend. She will be a wonderful ambassador for our country. I know that I have big shoes to fill but am delighted and humbled that I will get a chance to carry the South African flag as the new Miss South Africa and represent my country to the best of my ability at the Miss Universe Pageant in January.“
