You know we have a day for everything. So with that in mind, welcome to Thursday aka International Hamburger Day! To celebrate this day Spur, South Africa’s favourite family restaurant is dropping off burgers at some of the country’s biggest radio stations, but more importantly they’ll be giving back to their foundation’s beneficiaries around the country too:
Cape Town : Umnqophiso Preprimary (220 children at the day care centre)
Bloemfontein : Bochela Centre (40 school-going children)
Johannesburg : Bellavista Creche, Africa Star Flats, Bellavista (40 children at the day care centre)
Port Elizabeth : Inn Safe Hands (12 school-going children)
Durban : Durban Children’s Home (80 school-going children)
Today also happens to be World Hunger Day too. So instead of me going to smash a burger in my face today, I’ve decided to give someone who needs it more than I do, the option to enjoy a nice delicious meal. I’ll keep you posted on my plans J I’m not the only one doing something to raise awareness around the day, and the importance of helping make sure people are not going without food. Bryan Habana, Kamini Pather and a few other personalities are doing their bit too.
