Mumford & Sons – All you need to know

Mumford & Sons are hear in SA in just over three weeks… Yes folks, you heard right. The band will embark on their first South African tour this coming February and I know it’s going to be incredible!

So wondering what you need to know, bring and the like? Here’s a snapshot of how you can be Mumford-ready:

  • Gates open at 14:00, not earlier… So don’t even bother trying
  • Stage times for all the bands:

17:00 – 17:40: TBA

18:00 – 18:40: John Wizards

19:00 – 19:40: The Very Best

20:00 – 21:00: Beatenberg

21:45 – 23:45: Mumford & Sons with Baaba Maal

  • Make sure your tickets are valid. If you bought them from a 3rd party and their fake, askies… Organisers won’t be sympathetic. So maybe check in with Computicket
  • Also, there are two shows in Pretoria. So make sure you rock up at the right one. Cool
  • There’s limited parking in PTA, so why not use the Park & Ride option? They go from Menlyn mall, Cresta Shopping Centre, Melrose Arch, Cedar Square, East Rand Mall and Fountains Valley. Tickets at Computicket
  • Bring your ID… especially if you look young. Otherwise you won’t be able to buy booze
  • You can purchase a cashless card at the cashless/ recharge tents

You should bring:

  • Sunscreen
  • Something warm or a raincoat just in case
  • Comfortable shoes. It’s a music concert, not a night at a larny club – just saying
  • Your happy face
  • The lyrics you learned over the holidays. Don’t make them up, that’s just silly 😉

You shouldn’t bring:

  • Professional cameras (sigh) or iPads. You look like a chop if you’re taking photos with your iPad anyway and the quality is kak, so don’t even bother
  • Weapons … cause well, you know.
  • Umbrellas… let’s just sing in the rain
  • Grumpy, miserable types. If they’re hanging or non-fans, just buy them a movie ticket and tell them to JBS. We don’t need them at the concert 😉
