What’s in the R2-million SAMA XXI goodie bags?

unnamed

Each and every year the Sun City Superbowl comes to life, as the who’s who from the South Africa music industry descend on the entertainment complex for the annual South African Music Awards. This year the SAMA team are celebrating twenty one years and it will no doubt be an incredible evening. The awards go down on the 19th of April and those lucky enough to be presenting, performing or hosting will be given yet another incredible goodie bag and this year’s goodie bags are valued at a whopping R2-million bucks combined. Shame ne? And these celebs hardly need any of this stuff 😉 Check this out

  • Complimentary Twisp e-cigarette, complete with accessories. You know it’s trendy to Twisp and not actually smoke anymore, so this is clever. The Super Bowl might be all Twisped out though… the haze of Twisp 🙂
  • Ray-Ban is back again and handing out some their most stylish sunnies
  • They’re getting a classy Converse watch too and trust me, if my movie screening prizes were anything to go by, these watches will be rocking
  • Miglio Designer Jewellery is supplying a set of exquisite Swarovski crystal earrings for the women and a bracelet for the men, with John Craig chipping in a handsome wallet.
  • Toe Porn will be handing out some funky socks, hoodies from Le Coq Sportif will be in the bags, which is perfectly timed for Fall and Winter. There are T-shirts from Cipo & Baxx, with Pamela Mann tucking some fashionable leggings in to the bags for good measure
  • Rocka is throwing in some earphones as well as terrific caps. I love my headphones… Mi Casa and Danny K’s are my favourites
  • Products from Mizani, Mia Rose perfume and Body Essence tissue oil courtesy of Avroy Shlain, Candi & Co hair styling vouchers and Moroccan Oil gift sets, and Iman make-up products.

#NOTKAK!!!
The annual XXI Annual South African Music Awards will be broadcast live on SABC 1 on Sunday, 19 April 2015 from 20h00. If you, like me, wont be at Sun City this year, you can watch all the action on the mobi site www.samatv.mobi

One Direction fans across the globe are waking up heartbroken this morning, following yesterday’s breaking news about member Zayn Malik’s decision to leave the band. It’s especially heartbreaking for many young South African fans, who were hoping to see all five members performing in the country this weekend. Alas, it’s not meant to be. Hanging out with Vincent Bones

Earlier today I got to meet and Hangout (Google-wise) with #IdolsSA winner, Vincent Bones. The now 30 year-old was crowned the winner of the tenth season during Sunday night’s live finale. Honestly speaking, he is one of the most genuine, down to earth people I have ever met. Very humble, very appreciative and very friendly. Really, really nice guy. Check out the Hangout below:

After the interview I asked (pleaded with) Vincent to please, please, please realise the magnitude of this, the platform he has been given etc. I asked that he use it to its full potential because so often we see these Idols winners take the title and do nothing with it. I wont mention names, but Khaya, Elvis and Heinz have used it really well 😉 Vincent assured me that he plans to use it wisely and fully, which is great to hear. Can’t wait to see his journey continue and to see what sort of music he has in store for us!

Idols 10 – and then there were 31

Idols SA X episode 5 - Hell Week (43)

The funny bit of the new season of Idols is done and dusted and now the hard work begins… I secretly wish we had more audition centers around the country because that would mean we could laugh a little more, but it’s time to get down to business. Last night’s episode dealt with the first bit of what has become known as ‘Hell week’… Hell because there’s very little time, very little sleep, a lot of nervous energy and plenty of tension – especially when it comes to the group sessions. The judges are ruthless and cull like it means nothing, so the contestants have to step up to the plate, bring their A-game and ensure that they have the drive, the passion and of course the talent to be the next South African Idol. Here are the 31 hopefuls going through to the next round of hell week. One thing’s for sure, one of these names will be shining bright come November: Boitumelo Morobane (20) from Johannesburg

Bongiwe Silinda (23) from Nelspruit

Celine Homan (17) from Gordon’s Bay

Chante Geary (20) from Witbank

Chloë Clark (25) from Durban

Demi Lee (24) from Durbanville

Dineo Moseki (20) from Tlakgameng in Northwest

Eddie Koeberg (24) from Plettenberg Bay

Hanan Baarth (20) from Cape Town

Ivan Roux (23) from Centurion

Kyle “London” Louw (24) from Cape Town

Kyle Deutschmann (26) from Durban

Lebogang Komane (19) from Ga Rankuwa

Leon van Zyl (18) from Springs

Lihle Buthelezi (25) from Ladysmith

Lize Mynhardt (21) from Stellenbosch

Lyle Tyrell (21) from Cape Town

Malibongwe Zulu (20) from Durban

Mirandi Smith (25) from Rustenburg

Monique Erens (17) from Cape Town

Morgan Deane Smith (30) from Cape Town

Musa Mashiane (27) from eMalahleni

Niyaaz Arendse (18) from Ottery
