It’s official, actress Boity is NOT off the market… Well in the marriage sense. So she isn’t getting married, but she is involved with award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest and that is Legit… Yip, the stars caught us all out earlier today. Basically Cassper just wanted to make it official with Boity i.e. *sings JT’s Girlfriend track. #ItsLegit, they’re dating. Shem, cute
Sjoe, it looks like Silicon Cape is breeding a winning bunch of ‘socialmedialites’ – and hot ones at that. The list of winners from the inaugural Channel24 Awards were announced this morning, with the vivacious and wonderful Top Billing presenter Jeannie D coming out on top. Jeannie walked away with the sexiest female award, as well as the Golden crown award for best online social media presence.
If you know me well, you’ll know there are four female celebs who I absolutely adore. The lovely Nelly Furtado has always been a firm favourite of mine, American girls (women) next door Blake Lively and Jennifer Aniston are winners (Jen being my ultimate) and then there’s Jeannie. I’ve had the privilege of meeting and interviewing Jeannie on several occasions, and every single time she’s been warm, willing, bubbly and entertaining. This clearly extends onto the social media platforms too, because her fans came together and voted for her in these awards. Well done to her!
Jeannie’s mate and fellow presenter, Janez Vermeiren also scored big at these awards, as did our Gautengers, the gorgeous freaks of the gene pool, Lee-Ann Liebenberg and Boity Thulo. And I’m proud to announce that my #unradio family, Cliff Central won the Best Facebook Page award too… Six months in the game and already award winning, love it!!! Check out the full list below:
It’s the picture that has had everyone talking for the last 24 hours and counting… TV personality, Boity is one of 36 celebrities featured in Marie Claire’s Naked issue. For some reason, this picture has become a trending topic on social media and in the media space in general. Last night I was driving home from an Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon workshop. Aubrey Masango of 702 fame was talking about this picture, as were most of his listeners. It seems to have divided a lot of people, with some saying it’s too much while others say it’s appreciating the human form/ physique and the beauty that a person like Boity embodies.
I think she looks lovely. She’s comfortable with who she is, what she stands for and this is for a good cause too. So big up to you, Boity and to the other celebs too! Cath, you’re looking great here, yourself.
It might be cold out there, but come the 27th of July things will get all kinds of hot when some of SA’s biggest names gather together for this year’s YOU Spectacular. The event goes down on 27 July at The Lyric, Gold Reef City, Gauteng and if you’re wondering who the big nominees are this year, check out the full list below:
You’ll also see my predictions for who I think will win… To make it fair, I’ll select two (especially because some of the categories are too close to call) and note this does not necessarily reflect my preference, it’s who I think stands a better chance. They’re all equally deserving of the awards, but there can only be one.

Vuzu’s V-Entertainment will celebrate its 1000th episode next week and to mark this massive milestone and occasion, the channel is bringing back the original V-Entertainment host, Nonhle Thema. Did you think she’d disappeared? Did you think she was overs? Not a chance… You can #SITDOWN. She will #BuyYou if you disrespect her 😉 #BOOM.
Full details on Nonhle’s big return in the press release below:
V Entertainment’s original host Nonhle Thema is returning to the show’s hot seat to celebrate the landmark 1000th episode of Vuzu’s popular live entertainment show.
Thema will be there to guide the gossip, peace-making, revelations and more – including when a host of A-List celebs gathered at a Joburg restaurant to mark the occasion.
The very special episode of V Entertainment – to be broadcast on Wednesday, 24 April at 18:00 – again confirms the live show’s status as providing the freshest local and international celebrity news, views and interviews on air. It’s a combination that has earned the show loyal fans throughout South Africa over the years.
The proof of V Entertainment’s pull is that many of those at the intimate A-List dinner celebration were seeing each other for the first time in ages, having had the kind of beef that’s unlikely to be classified as clean by scientists with their microscopes! Continue reading “Nonhle’s back”
The SA Sports Awards took place the Sandton Convention Centre on Sunday. I was on the red carpet interviewing some of the biggest names in the game and while I waited for my chance, I snapped a few pics of the stars in attendance. Check out the gallery below and check back in for video interviews coming this week.
The annual South African Music Awards took place at the Sun City Super Bowl on Monday evening. As to be expected the lovely Zahara stole the show, scooping at least eight trophies at the coveted music awards. Big up to her and big up to Randall Abrahams and his team for an incredible event. What a huge success. The yellow carpet is something that us working media need to work on. There is such a thing as etiquette and we still haven’t figured that out, but all in due course I guess. Alas, here are a few pictures from the yellow carpet. Above is the beautiful and incredible Bonang Matheba, wearing Gert-Johan Coetzee.
