Watch Cheryl Cole’s new track ‘Call My Name’

Cheryl Cole has been quiet for quite some time, but that’s all about to change. The star is back with a brand new song called Call My Name. After a very succesful run on the charts with her albums 3 Words and Messy Little Raindrops in 2009 and 2010 respectively, the star took a bit of a break from music (so to speak). She was part of Simon Cowell’s X-Factor judging panel in the US for all of like three episodes and then she suddenly left not only the American version, but the franchise entirely. She also went through a lot in her personal life, but that seems to be a thing of the past as the star is all set to unleash her new material on the globe!

This is the first single off her forthcoming album, due out in June. The video was released 19 hours ago but if you haven’t seen it yet, you can do so above. The song is bound to get loads of airplay on radio and in the clubs. The video was shot in downtown Los Angelas and it sees the getting back to her dancing ways. The choreography is great and guys, you’ll agree with me when I say Cheryl is looking Well Fit!

Her new album is called A Million Lights. It is expected to be released on the 18th of June. As soon as there are more details available on the album, I’ll bring them to you. I’m sure will appear on a few of the songs and if memory serves me correctly, Cole mentioned a possible collaboration with Rihanna. Gosh, imagine that. Throw Will in there and a little bit of David Guetta and the clubs would be exploding with excitement… That is of course all speculation. Let’s what and see.

Adele, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne to perform at the MTV VMAs

UK Star Adele is set to make her MTV Video Music Awards debut on the 28th of August. The star, who is nominated in seven categories, will make her debut alongside the likes of Chris Brown and Lil Wayne, when the awards go down in US next month.  Adele, Chris and Lil Wayne are the first three names to be released ahead of this year’s ceremony, which takes place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. More will be announced at a later date.

On being selected to perform, Lil Wayne said, “Being a nominee AND performer on the VMAs once again is an honour because everyone doesn’t get that opportunity. Looking forward to performing on the show, and having Tha Carter IV drop the same week!”

Chris Brown remarked, “I am excited about my nominations and to be back on the VMA stage. I have a special performance planned for my wonderful fans.”

Here’s how you can get involved with the show. To vote for your favourite videos and artists, visit and vote now. Check out a full list of this year’s nominees here.

More on the performers and more to follow in the weeks to come, but for now, here is one of my favourite Adele moments. It’s her cover of Cheryl Cole’s Promise This and to quote Adele, “I laaaave her”:

Cheryl dropped from UK X Factor too

WTF… Cheryl Cole has now been dropped from the UK’s X Factor judging panel too? This follows last week’s news that the  producers of the American version of the hit show had decided to terminate her contract, just four episodes in. Apparently she wasn’t getting on very well with Paula Abdul and the producers were worried her accent was a little too thick for American audiences. When the British version’s judges were announced yesterday, Cole’s name was not included in that lineup. Instead, they’re going with Louis Walsh, Take That’s Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland from Destiny’s Child and Tulisa Contostavlos of N-Dubz. Kelly’s American accent isn’t an issue clearly. CheCo must be well bovvered now.

I smell an exclusive OK magazine deal coming on worth loads of little Pounds and speaking of Pounds, it’s believed Cole will still pocketed a whopping 1.2million Pounds for the four episodes she shot in the US.

It’s interesting that her accent has been described as too thick. I mean when Paula Abdul used to be on Idols and on some ‘liquid diet’ , it was difficult to make out what she was saying half the time. At least Cheryl is extremely easy on the eye and she is relevant at the moment. Will this help her get her big break States side or will she settle for Mudd Island and what it has to offer? I guess only time will tell!

The Hangover Part II: Day 2

Last night’s red carpet event was awesome. I can’t believe how quickly it went. I’ve been building that event up for almost three weeks now and just like that it was over. When the guys and girl arrived on the red carpet the crowds went mad, especially for Bradley Cooper. Ed Helms was a great sport, he gave me some good sound bytes, as did Ken Jeong and Jamie Chung. She is beautiful too! I’m sitting down with all of them tomorrow again in a more intimate and less noisy environment, so if you have any burning questions you want answered, holler. Love letters and virtual bras can be sent to the following email addi: JOKES!

So today I’ve spent most of the day editing the video and doing some other work. Being a Virgo, I strive for perfection and I’m pretty chuffed with what I’ve produced. I will share the video tomorrow morning. I then decided to get some fresh air, what with it being 27 degrees in Berlin today and all. So off I went to this cool sports store called Karstadt, where I had some goodies to buy for my little cousin. It took me an hour to walk there, but I strolled through the park, along the high street, past the Berlin Zoo and the little side walk cafes. I stumbled across a couple having a little lunch break in their car if you know what I mean, which was awkward I scurried off and upped my pace a bit. After that I saw some of other shops and I felt the need to go in and see what they had on offer. Needless to say the European summer fashion isn’t quite me, so my bank balance will remain in a happy, warm and fuzzy place for now.

I now find myself blogging, tweeting, checking FB and catching up on the latest entertainment news. Cheryl Cole has been sacked from X Factor America according to TMZ? Kim Kardashian‘s hubby-to-be blows 2million on an engagement ring? Look she’s amazeballs but seriously, 2 million? That’s just dumb! I also read an interesting article about the 15 most bicycle friendly cities in the world. Berlin is most certainly one of them with the amount of cyclists I saw today and big up to the Mother City for being on that list. Cape Town has had a good year thus far. Tripadvisor’s number 1 travel destination and now one of CNN’s most bike friendly cities. Nice and I trust capetonians and their bikes more then I do when they’re driving their cars! JOKES! Love you Cape Town.

So tomorrow is a big day. I’ll keep you posted with the interviews etc and don’t forget The Hangover Part II opens tomorrow. Click here for show times in SA.

Brand new videos from Cheryl Cole and Locnville

So yesterday I brought you the first single from South African musical outfit Locnville and it just so happens that their new single music video was (at the same time) being uploaded to Youtube. Check it out above. These boys are gonna blow up this year and I reckon they have international appeal too so stay tuned.

Then check out Brit singer Cheryl Cole’s new video below. It’s the follow up to “Fight For This Love” off her number one album “3 Words”. The song sees her teaming up with BEP star (again- first time for his song Heartbreaker) on this track.

On a side note, did anyone in Cape Town spot Ms Cole partying it up this December? The singer, who is married to soccer star Ashley Cole will be back in the country come the World Cup, but she was jamming it up and apparently looking for the hot spots for her and the other WAGS come June!

Jay-Z wants Cheryl Cole

Former Girls Aloud star, Cheryl Cole has enjoyed the view from the top of the UK charts with both her single “Fight For This Love” and her debut solo album, “3 Words”. The album was produced by BEP star, and now she’s caught the eye of yet another star producer. That in Jay-Z. The mogul wants to help her crack the US market and with his track record, that is most certainly possible.

According to the Daily Mirror, a source tells them, “Cheryl is the biggest fan of Jay-Z and Beyoncé. To hear the feeling is mutual has totally made her year. She never imagined her album would have taken off like this. To get Jay-Z’s support is beyond her wildest dreams.”

Deathcab song for y’all!

Then across the pond, Cheryl Cole is dominating over there… and how’s that for a start to your solo career. Not bad Ms Cheryl, although I’m not such a fan of the first single. Perhaps it’ll grow on me… the Brits clearly seem to love it and her of course!

So Cheryl’s song is one of the hardest to find on the web… I don’t know why record labels make it so hard for us to watch the video or better, embed it! Really annoys me. Anyways, take a listen here
