He is one of the most well known and well respected football players in the world. More than that, he is one of the most famous athletes in the world… It’s been a pleasure watching what David Beckham has done for the game of soccer, but yesterday the 38-year-old announced his retirement from the game. A great innings, an incredible career and we look forward to what he will be doing going forward.
Thanks for the memories David! Salute.
Congratulations go out to Victoria “Posh” Beckham and Kate Hudson who gave birth to their new little bundles of joy over the weekend. Kate and fiance Matt Bellamy of Muse fame welcomed their healthy baby boy yesterday. This is their first child and Kate’s second. She has a 7 year-old Ryder from her previous marriage. Posh and her hubby David welcome their little rose among the thorns. Their baby girl was born earlier today. No word on the names of the babies yet but I’m expecting a different name from the Beckhams… who knows after the recent visit to Hollywood from the UK’s Royals Kate and Wills, maybe the new Hollywood babies will be named after the Duke and Duchess. Let’s see. Until then, congrats go out to the happy families!
UPDATE: Posh and Becks have named their little girl Harper Seven Beckham. Seven is unusual right? Well the number seven is believed to be a very lucky spiritual number. She was also born in the seventh month on the seventh day of the week. I actually like it. I think Harper is nice. To shorten the name might be a bit off, “Hi Harps how you darlin'” and you know the Brits don’t pronounce the letter “H” very well, “Ello Arps” haha. I’m kidding. I like it. Congrats to the happy Beckham family.
Okay not quite a soccer team, but you get my drift… David Beckham and his wife Victoria are expecting! The couple confirmed the news to People Magazine at the weekend:
“David and Victoria Beckham are delighted to confirm they are expecting their fourth child in the summer. Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are very excited about the arrival of their new brother or sister.”
Congratulations to the Becks. Hopefully they’ll be welcoming a little princess into their brood when the big arrival happens in a few months time.
This evening’s draw for the World Cup will decide the pools for the first round of next year’s FIFA World Cup. I cannot wait. Charlize Theron, David Beckham and a whole host of other international celebrities and high profile peops will be in Cape Town for the big draw. It’s going to be huge. All the street lights in Cape Town are functioning, the city has been cleaned up and from what I’m hearing it’s looking amazing. Jealousy is me! Anyways, this is South Africa’s- and Africa for that matter- big moment. Almost 200 million people are expected to watch the live broadcast and the spectacle that will follow it with performances by TKZee and the Soweto Gospel Choir to name a few. Can’t wait.
