Commented Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa, “We are very excited to welcome NE-YO to MAMA 2015 for his first ever appearance in Durban. As a sensational live perfomer and truly accomplished R&B star, NE-YO’s an all-round class act who will greatly complement the African performers on the show.”
I’ve had the privilege of meeting NE-YO. As a fan and as reporter, I can tell you he is one of the nicest, most humble people in the industry. He’s a talent to behold and trust me, if you’re going to be at the MAMAs, you will not be disappointed.
Tickets for the MAMAs are on sale at Computicket now. Visit the site for more details and to join the conversation about the awards please use the hashtag #MTVMAMA2015.
She’s one of the most bubbly people on TV. Her infectious presenting style and laughter, coupled with her superstar looks have made Jeannie D
one of the most loved South African celebrities. Now the star is adding another feather to her cap in the form of a fragrance. Jeannie D has launched her signature perfume called Jeannie in a Bottle. She describes the fragrance as something of a ‘sophisticated’ nature, which sums her up just perfectly.
“This is an absolute dream come true for me. I just love the jasmine-floral profile of this fragrance and have no doubt that others will absolutely adore it too”,
The fragrance was developed by Luzi Switzerland and is packaged by Creighton Products in Durban. She together with her partners at Forma Cosmetics sifted through over 50 combinations before settling on sophisticated floral and spicy-woody middle notes. There’s also a little bit of amber, musk, tonka bean and vanilla. If you’re interested in purchasing the fragrance you can buy it at www.forma-cosmetics.com from R329.99. It will also be available at Clicks stores on the 1st of December 2013, just in time for Christmas 😉
Hopefully when Jeannie and Janez are finished shooting this season of Top Travel, she’ll be available for an interview with me to discuss this more. I’ll keep you posted on that front, but for now a big congratulations must go out to Jeannie!!

If you want to know one thing about it, it’s that I always wanted to be an MTV VJ. I had aspirations of being a VJ on the hugely popular show, TRL… I mean who didn’t want to interview some of the biggest names in the game, live and direct from Times Square in New York City (only the best city in the world might I add). Sadly, the closest I got to that was actually being an audience member back in 2007 and shortly after the MTV pulled the plug on the show.
The dream of working in NYC is still there and maybe it will be more behind the scenes at MTV, but that’s a side note. If you’re young, funky, fresh and fly and you want to work at MTV Base then here is your chance. The music network is once again embarking on its VJ search and you could be the chosen one. Auditions take place in Umhlanga this weekend and if you think you have what it takes to join the likes of Sizwe, Nomuzi Mabena and many others then head on down to Gateway Theatre of Shopping this Saturday. The former Dogg now Lion said he was excited about heading out to SA again. “I’m honoured to bring this important message of peace and love to South Africa,” said Snoop Lion. “This is the motherland and a place of so much history and strife. I hope that this concert reminds us it is also a place of joy, love, celebration and peace – which is very much in line with where I am as an artist right now. I want to thank all the incredible artists joining me and props to MTV for sharing this important moment with the world.”
While on stage at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium, the star is without a shadow of a doubt, going to share experience of his putting together his latest release, REINCARNATED. In case you don’t know, it’s his multi-media project capturing Snoop’s exploration of reggae music and spiritual growth.
