Are you a big Empire fan like me? The show has returned to FOX on Thursdays at 21:00 (CAT), following a brief production break, but the Lyons family is back and ready to entertain both you and I for a few more episodes in the season. If you love the show as much as I do, you’ll know how incredible the music is. In my opinion, Jamal aka Jussie Smollett is the breakout star in this show (well besides Taraji obviously, but you know what I mean). His voice his hauntingly good and his talent is undeniable. A lot of the songs I’ve downloaded off Apple Music are the ones he has recorded, but perhaps you have some favourites yourself? Let me know.
So the good news for Empire fans is that I have a cd for season two and the complete first season on DVD to giveaway. If you want to get your hands on these, simply tell me when the show airs in South Africa. Leave a comment below or tweet me @JasonVonBerg
*Competition is only open to South African residents

Summer’s coming – or Winter for those of you up north. With the new seasons come new seasons of some of the biggest shows on TV. What do we have to look forward to? How To Get Away With Murder, Scandal (The Fixer), The Walking Dead, and of course my favourite, Empire! I follow most of the stars from Empire on Instagram and they’re just as excited about the new season as we are.
The first song off the new season has dropped and you can have a listen to it below:
Can you hear Ne-Yo’s influence? I can also hear a little bit of Usher (8701 album) in Jussie’s voice. I love the track – barring Mr. Worldwide, snore.
The highly acclaimed show, The Walking Dead returns to your screens on the 12th of October on FOX. The show will air in the U.S. on the 11th on AMC, followed by some 125 markets around the world. The season premiere will be an extended 90-minute premiere episode, which is something the channel continues to pride itself on.
“Seeing the unrivalled global success of The Walking Dead unfold over the past five years has, in a sense, been very humbling. No matter how hard the actors, producers, programmers and marketers work on the show, this zombie explosion would not have been possible without the die-hard support of our global fans. It is why FOX continues to be committed to a day & date release of the series that ensures fans of the show everywhere, continue to be part of the global conversation.” said Sharon Tal Yguado, EVP Scripted Entertainment Programming at FOX International Channels.
I can’t believe it took me so long to get into this show, but I’m so happy I did. I absolutely love it. I’m looking forward to September because that’s when Empire returns for a second season and then October is hotting up with The Walking Dead. FOX, you stay winning!
