2014 Golden Globes – Tina Fey, Amy Poehler opening monologue

In case you missed it, here’s a look at the 2014 Golden Globes opening monologue by hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. See who they lay into, watch the ‘dramatic’ Scandal (The Fixer) intro and see what they have to say about George Clooney. Hilarious, brilliant. Love these two.

The Oscars redcarpet 2012

The 84th Academy Awards are about to get going. The stars have walked the red carpet, most looking the part… some not so much. Some of the stars I caught a glimpse of included Michelle Williams (amazing in her red dress), George Clooney and his beautiful girlfriend Stacey Kiebler, Brad Pitt and Angelia Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow. People are saying she is a best dressed nominee, in her Tom Ford outfit tonight. She looks great.

Glenn Close also looked amazing tonight. She looks great in her Zac Posen designed outfit. Stacey Keibler is wearing Marchesa, as is Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock.

The 84th Academy Awards are here

Film’s big night is here.

Awards season is coming to an end and while you might be sad that the glitz, the glamour and the prestigious ceremonies are ending for another season, there’s still one major awards show to go. That being the 84th Academy Awards, which happens tonight (tomorrow morning if you’re in my timezone). Will The Artist take home top honours at the awards? Who will win between Viola, Meryl and Michelle? It’s anyone’s guess at this point, but it’s going to be awesome nonetheless. Check out a complete list of nominations below and be sure to check back in later on for more from the red carpet, the awards and more.

And the 2012 Oscars Nominees are?

Today is the day many actors, filmmakers and industry experts and employees have been waiting for- the Academy Awards nominations. The 2012 nominees will be announced at 15:30, South African time. Who will be in the running to take home the coveted award?

George Clooney, Jean DuJardin, Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio are bound to feature in the list of nominees for their roles in a lead role. The Artist and The Help have enjoyed early wins this awards season and they’re bound to continue on that winning tip, well at least in terms of nominations that is. The Descendants, Hugo and Moneyball are bound to feature too.

In terms of the ladies, Meryl Streep, Glenn Close will surely get nominated. Will our golden girl Charlize Theron get yet another Oscar nod for her role in Young Adult? I think so. I think Michelle Williams will get one too.

Scorsese, Clooney and Allen will go up against Alexander Payne(The Descendants) and Michael Hazanavicius (The Artist) in the Best Director category. I think this is going to be one of the most hotly contested categories and the one to watch out for.

Overall, The Artist seems like a firm favourite this year. Let’s reconvene at 15:30 to find out who will be in the running for one of Academy Awards, the 84th of its kind.

2012 Golden Globes- George Clooney, The Descendants

Natalie Portman presented George Clooney with the Golden Globe for Best Actor, Drama for his role in The Descendants.

“Wow, well it’s a funny thing. It’s an evening where you catch up with old friends. It’s nice to see Brad and to not only tell him that he’s doing great work in two films but also all the other great work he’s doing in the world. Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press, to Fox Searchlight. I thank you very much for this.”

The Globes are generally seen as a good indication as to who will walk away with the coveted Academy Award next month. So will The Help and The Artist be on the list of winners tonight? We’ll have to wait and see later. Here’s a quick look at this year’s nominees:

Golden Globe 2010 red carpet

The 67th annual Golden Globe Awards are just under two hours away and all the stars are turning up in the droves to be apart of the action. This despite the rainy and miserable weather. Watching it live on E! Entertainment with Guiliana Rancic and Ryan Seacrest and so far I’ve seen Toni Collette, Mickey Rourke, Neil Patrick Harris, Fergie and hubby Josh Duhamel, Sandra Bullock, Emily Blunt, Adrian Grenier and others…. It’s gonna be good. Who else is watching?

Lea Michele from Glee is looking gorgeous! Rancic asked her if she was dating anyone. Her response? “I’m very happy I will say that. I’ll never tell”.

Should Sandra Bullock win tonight, she’ll most certainly be on her way to Oscar glory! Chase Crawford of Gossip Girl is attending his first Golden Globe Awards. Apparently his Dolce and Gabbana suit is one of the most celebrate

George Clooney is up for Best Actor in a Lead Role for his role in “Up In The Air”. Next week Clooney and many of his celeb friends will be raising money for the people of Haiti after last week’s devastating earthquake. He told Seacrest that “this is a difficult time for people to be giving” but that it’s amazing how forthcoming and united people have been. There will be loads of great musicians, Sting is tipped to be one of them and many of the songs performed at the live telethon will be available for download on iTunes! Big up George!!

Someone who looked kinda odd posing on the red carpet was Chloë Sevigny of “Big Love” fame. Wow posing at the best of times looks dumb, but she really looked totally weird. Leona Lewis is looking goooooooood and her posing was just perfect 😉 Wow!

Penelope Cruz is up for Best Supporting Actress in the musical “Nine”. Quote of the night so far, “I’m not like Puff Daddy…I hold my own umbrella.” She alsoo said that during breaks on set the ladies would go out for dinners and they even went to check out Madonna in concert! I bet they had the best seats in the house! Artists for Peace and Justice is how Penelope is getting involved and pledging her support to the people of Haiti!

Mariah Carey needs to cover up a bit. Besides that she is being celebrated for her role in the film “Precious”. “I’m here tonight to see the film supported and to have fun” Jennifer Garner looks fantastic in Versace, really does! Her film Valentine’s Day is coming out soon and like I said in another blog post, the whose who of Hollywood star in that film. Garner on Jessica Biel, “I totally have a girl crush on her” Taylor Lautner was asked if he was dating anyone at the moment, “I am not”. No more (Tay)2.

MMM… still looking amazing is “Cougar Town” Courtney Cox!

Fan strips for George Clooney

This is funny. This dude stands up at a press conference at the Venice Film Festival and starts asking George Clooney a question. All seems good and well until the dude goes off on a tangeant, exclaiming he’s gay asking George “May i kiss you, please? Just one kiss?” hahaha. Bless him. Check out George’s reaction to his stripper fan.
