One of my favourite albums of 2014 dropped at the tail end of the year. It’s the next edition in a long list of successful releases from one of SA’s most praised DJs, Euphonik and it’s called For The Love Of House Vol. 6. I can’t get enough. He knows what works on the dance floor and beyond and if you’re into house music, you definitely need to get your hands on a copy of this album.
A track off the album that has garnered a lot of attention on the charts is the one below. It’s called Love High and it features the vocals of Mpumi. Loves it:
Once Euphonik’s well deserved vacation is done, I’m hoping to get him on my show on CliffCentral.com. Stay tuned for those details and if you want to follow him on the social networks, here you go:

Who’s the boss of this mother? It’s Queen Bey… I honestly feel like her, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake are on another level. They are the epitome of what it means to lead and not follow. They do things on their own terms and continue to innovate, create and be unique and that is why they are arguably the biggest and the best in the game. Just take Beyoncé and her antiques today for example. There has been a lot of speculation about when she will release new material. There have been singles here and there but nothing official has been announced. While most artists do a lot of pre-album promotion, Beyoncé just went ahead and dropped her new album today. It’s an audio-visual spectacle that portrays and depicts the space she found herself in creatively, while making this album. Some might see this as arrogant, but I think she is a genius. Her legions of fans idolise her and she knows she has a winner with this one. BIG UP!
WOW!!!! That is all I can say. There aren’t many people who can just go and drop a new album with promotion and still manage to cause a stir on social media and in the media, but that Ms Beyoncé Knowles- Carter did.
14 songs, 17 videos… All for the price of $15.99 on iTunes… and you know this album is going to Fllllllllyyyy off the shelves and hit the top of the charts. It’s also extremely smart of her to do ahead of the holiday season. Incredible. By the way, iTunes temporarily crashed thanks to Mrs Carter’s surprise 😉 You’ll hear Drake, Jay, Frank Ocean and the cutest little contribution from Blue Ivy. There’s also an awesome track that Beyoncé does with Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche too. Here’s the official track listing:

3. Drunk in Love (Featuring Jay Z)

Katy Perry‘s follow up single to Roar is here. This one is called Dark Horse. The single features Juicy J and is taken off her forthcoming album, Prism. It’s produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin. I dig the inclusion of the drum loops, synth vibes. I wish she’d rap a few lines too… Maybe next album 😉 Thoughts?
Like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga’s new single was leaked prematurely. So instead of allowing all the fake, low res versions to get all the credit, the star was forced to release the single a week earlier than intended. It’s great. I dig it… Think Love Game, Poker Face vibe… Fun, catchy and definitely foot-tapping material.
The song is off her forthcoming album, ARTPOP, which drops on the 11th of November. Gaga told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, “ARTPOP is a celebration and a poetic musical journey through my friends and I hanging out and enjoying being pop stars. And that’s what really inspired the record is that time off.”
YAY!!! Katy Perry is back. Her new single, Roar unofficially hit the web at the weekend. It will be released today on iTunes and I’m certain we’re going to be hearing a lot more of it in the weeks to come. Roar is taken off Katy’s forthcoming album, Prism, which is expected to drop on the 22nd of October. I love this woman’s energy. She’s fun, intelligent, likable and just my type of person. Groupie moment done, have a listen and #ROAR!!!
Justin Timberlake fans (me included), you’ll be stoked to hear that JT will be releasing The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 on the 30th of September. The first single off that album is called “Take Back The NIght”. With this soulful, funky track, the star has once again teamed up with Timbaland and Jerome “J-Roc” Harmon. You can listen to it above… Warning, your foot will tap to this track! If it doesn’t well… sorry for you 😉
If you’re a die-hard, you can pre-order the album on the iTunes Store. Just go to itunes.com/JT. You can also get the The 20/20 Experience – The Complete Experience, which has all 21 tracks from Mr. Timberlake. Look out for a special surprise from Justin on this one. “I originally recorded a massive amount of material and decided on the 20 tracks that I wanted on the album over a year ago. But, when I was mixing and going through all of the songs there were so many that I loved – I couldn’t resist… I had to throw in something extra on the 2nd half.”
Want more from Justin now? Check out his latest video for the track, Tunnel Vision:
There’s also an absolutely awesome track from him and Jay-Z out too. It’s called Holy Grail and holy moley is it awesome!! Listen below:
I’m desperate to get my hands on Jigga’s Magna Carta Holy Grail album, but I’ve forgotten my stupid security questions on iTunes and it’s not as easy to reset them as one would expect. If you have any tips, holler!
You’ll know by now that Snoop Lion is jetting into Durban in the next day or so.
