Rio 3-D is coming

Can’t wait to see this film. It’s called Rio and it’s the newest offering from the creators of Ice Age. Some of the voices you’ll get to hear include Anne Hathaway, Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg and Jamie Foxx. The film is directed by Carlos Saldanha and it’s written by Don Rhymer. It tells the story of Blu (a domesticated macaw) who meets the very independent Jewel. After meeting her, the two embark on a journey to Rio de Janeiro. Sounds like a lot of fun, and speaking of fun, check out the video above of Nigel. In the clip, you’ll get to hear why he’s not a “pretty bird” ha. The film is due for release in South Africa this April.

One more clip. Have a look at old Jamie Foxx in studio and featured guest Will.i.am makes an appearance too:

Awesome!!! That’s all I have to say. Pink is amazing, Adam Levin sounds great… I love the juxtaposition of Janet Jackson and her late brother Michael… Little Justin Bieber has the duties of kicking off the first verse followed by Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger and the lovely Jennifer Hudson! Celine, Josh, Barbra and Fergie are powerful… man of man, the rest is just fantastic!! Big up

Oh and by the way, do you guys know that Jamie is one of the candidates in the running to play Frank Sinatra in an upcoming biopic to be directed by Martin Scorcese? Well it’s true… You might be asking the same question, many people are asking. Jamie, a black man playing a white man? Well the reason given is because the film industry and Hollywood is meant to see no colour. Other stars on the shortlist: George Clooney, Leonardo di Caprio, Harry Connick Jnr and Justin Timberlake.

It’ll be cool to see if the Oscar-winner (For his performance as Ray Charles) will be cast in this role… time shall tell. Keep it locked for more.

Grammy night

First of all I must just say, it’s been very entertaining both watching the show live on Channel O and following all the coverage on Twitter and Facebook. It’s been good seeing what people think of the winners, who they’re liking and who they’re not enjoying as much! After the U2 opening and Best R&B winner JHud; Boyz II Men, Reverend Al Green and Justin Timberlake and Keith Urban all singing the soulful. “Let’s stay together”.

The Mentalist, Ozzie actor Simon Baker was there to introduce multiple winners Coldplay. The band’s vocalist Chris Martin took to the stage with just his piano singing the song ‘Lost,’ love it. Rapper Jay Z took to the stage too, throwing a bit of a rhyme in there before the rest of the band joined Martin. Continue reading “Grammy night”
