New music from Jordin Sparks

American Idol star, turned actress Jordin Sparks has just released her new single. It’s called Skippin’ a Beat and it is taken off the star’s forthcoming coming album. There isn’t much on the album as yet, but if you’re a Jordin Sparks fan stay tuned for more information.

The late, great Whitney Houston might not be with us anymore but her legacy, her voice too. Later on this year we’ll get to see the star in the upcoming movie Sparkle. One of her last recordings was a song called Celebrate. It’s a duet with young Jordin Sparks. The song was produced by R. Kelly and is taken off the Sparkle soundtrack, which is set for release on the 30th of July. Check out the video above and for more on the movie check out the official site:

Jordin Sparks releases new album, "Battlefield"

American Idol, season six winner Jordin Sparks is back with a new album. Battlefield is her sophomore album and follow up to her self-titled, debut album. The first single, Battlefields has received huge reviews and is currently sitting in the top 10 on charts across the world. Quick facts on the album:
* “To me, the title ‘Battlefield’ is about strength and perseverance,” Jordin explains about the album and song title.
* “Things can go from good to bad in an instant, it could be family, friendship or work; and my favorite line in the song is, ‘you better go and get your armor’, because it’s telling you to be prepared for that time so that you can overcome it.”
On the album Jordin says, “I think the range of songs and topics on the entire album are ultimately about strength in life, love and in staying true to yourself.”

The 19-year old has called on several heavyweight producers in the industry including Dr. Luke, T-Pain, Ryan Tedder of One Republic fame and Stargate to name a few.
