Madonna ‘Carries On’ despite her fall at The Brits

Why is Madonna known as the Queen of Pop? Because she’s the ultimate professional and let this be a case in point. Last night the star performed her new single at the Brit Awards. While the performance looked like it was going to be yet another impressive performance by the star, a slight change in plans threatened to ruin the moment. Madge slipped off the day! Ouch, but instead of running away in tears, she took her lyrics to heart and carried on. Check it out:

Hope she has some disprins 😉 Big up Madge.

And the name of Britney’s new album is?

Britney Spears will release her brand new album on December 3rd. The star, whose single Work Bitch is currently on high rotation around the world, was mum on who she has collaborated with, but I’m sure we can expect big names like Will.i.am, Miley and a few others. As for the name of the album? Well it’s called Britney Jean. When asked about the name of the album, the star told the Capital Radio breakfast shows hosts that it’s a “personal album”. Looking forward to this, her eighth studio album.

Miley Cyrus answers your questions

Well almost all of them… There’s nothing about the now infamous twerking at the VMAs performance, but Miley Cyrus does answer questions about her music video for We Can’t Stop and how she broke a record for the song. There will be loads of other videos and interviews like this coming out in the build up to Miley’s new album, Bangerz which is due out soon!

Watch Madonna’s video teaser for Girl Gone Wild

The Queen of Pop is all set to release her new album, MDNA. The album will be available as of the 23rd of the month. We’ve already heard the first single off that album called “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” which features Nicki Minaj and MIA. Did the track do as well as she hoped? I’m not so sure about that one, but it has certainly grown on me, that’s for sure. I suppose constant radio airplay can do that to one. Here is the tracklisting from that album:

» Girls Gone Wild
» Gang Bang
» I’m Addicted
» Some Girls
» I Don’t Give A
» Turn Up the Radio
» Give Me All Your Luvin’
» B-day Song
» Superstar
» I’m a Sinner
» Masterpiece
» Falling Free
» Love Spent
» I F—ed Up
» Beautiful Killer

The second single to be released off that album is called “Girl Gone Wild”. The video is set to make its debut soon, but if you can’t wait that long, check out the video teaser below:

Music highlights at Super Bowl XLVI

Congratulations to the New York Giants, who are the new Super Bowl champions. Super Bowl Sunday took place in Indiapolis last night. It saw the Giants beating their rivals the Patriots 21 points to 17. As you know this is a music and entertainment site, so I thought let’s look at some of the musical highlights from this year’s Super Bowl. First off, one of my favourite artists Kelly Clarkson had the honours of singing the American National Anthem and man oh man did KC nail it. She’s scored rave reviews all over the place, and rightfully so. Check it out below:

Country superstars Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton performed America The Beautiful too. What did you think of their performance?

Then the biggie of the night… The Queen of Pop, Madonna performed during the Bridgestone Halftime concert. She was joined by the likes of M.I.A, Nicki Minaj and Cee Lo Green. Check out the set below:

Performing tracks like Vogue, Music and her new single Give Me All Your Luvin‘, she proved she still has was it takes to be the queen. I really liked the remix of Music, which featured the Party Rockers LMFAO…. Love it!

X-Factor winner Melanie Amaro’s Pepsi commercial debuted during the Super Bowl too. It features Elton John and Flavor Flav. Check it out:

Are you ready Super Bowl XLVI Sunday?

It’s Super Bowl XLVI time and this year the New York Giants take on the New England Patriots this Sunday. The game, presented by Chevrolet, takes place in Indiapolis. I’ll admit being down here in South Africa, I haven’t followed this season so I’m not sure who will win the game. My American readers can enlighten me and others on who you think will win the game.

This year’s Bridgestone Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show is going to be something else. The Queen of Pop, Madonna will be taking to the stage to perform some of her biggest tracks. There is also a lot of speculation that Nicki Minaj and M.I.A will join Madge on stage to perform her new track, “Give Me All Your Love“. Damn, what a powerful trio! It’s as if Madge has moved on from the pop princesses, Britney and Christina in favour of the powerful MCs Nicki and M.I.A. BOOM!!!

At a press conference yesterday, Madonna said she was excited. She also promised “the greatest show on earth “The envelope I’m pushing is just for a spectacular show, which I think will entertain all age groups and hopefully will be a feast for the eyes and the ears”. The star, who recently won a Golden Globe, has been relatively quiet in the last few years. Now she’s back, winning awards, building schools in Malawi and now performing at the Super Bowl halftime show. Can’t wait to see it.

Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ hits the web

It has officially hit the web and radio stations across the world. People have been waiting patiently, but now it’s here. Lady Gaga’s Born This Way is here and no doubt it’ll hitting the top spot soon. It’s the first single the star has released in over a year now, so you can just imagine how anxious and eager all her Little Monsters have been in the build up to this release. It’s a good, uptempo and energetic song. Looking forward to seeing the video too. Have a listen to it below or here:

Now a lot of people on the web are saying the song sounds a lot like a Madonna track, “Express Yourself“. I tend to agree. 21st century version of Madge’s 80s hit much? Let’s see how the video is executed!
