She’s back ladies and gents. Pop superstar Katy Perry dropped her new single, Chained To The Rhythm just under two weeks ago, and man is it good. Sporting a new, blonder look, Perry doesn’t veer too off course when it comes to her colourful, playful and pop-infused look in the music video. She’s back to the future, and seemingly crushing hard on Skip Marley too 😉 Check it out:
The ONE Campaign this week brought together some of the biggest female stars from the African continent for the #PovertyIsSexist drive. The campaign is calling for world leaders to put women’s empowerment at the front and centre of the new development goals this year and beyond.
Stars like Vanessa Mdee, Victoria Kimani, Waje, Judith Sephuma, Arielle T, Gabriela and Selomor Mtukudzi, together with Nollywood superstar actress Omotola were all out and about in Johannesburg on Thursday for the shoot of the music video. Check out some of the pictures below:
The song is expected to drop on the 13th of May. Stay tuned for more.
Finally, the video is out. Eminem and Rihanna team up once again for another smash hit. This one is called The Monster and the video has officially been unleashed. Enjoy!
Don’t forget to grab your tickets to Eminem live in South Africa next March. Details here.
I’d be interested to hear from all the (non) Beliebers out there about this one. Justin Bieber released his new music video called All That Matters yesterday and I want to hear from you. What do you think of the new track? For me, it’s one of his weakest offerings. I like a few of his songs and for all the haters out there, I’m not ashamed to admit that. He is good, he’s got star power (obviously) and he’s one of the biggest names in the game. However, this new track does absolutely nothing for me. My opinion… What do you think? One of my favourite tracks off Rihanna‘s Unapologetic album is this one. It’s called What Now and the video is officially here. I got to see her perform this one live in concert last month, when she was here as part of her Diamonds World Tour. The way the crowd sang it with and then back to her was just too awesome. Rihanna is too gorgeous for words, love the video.

You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti? You want a Maseratti… You better work bitch… Those are the lyrics by pop superstar, Britney Spears. It will become an anthem for many, as we make our way towards the December holidays. In the southern hemisphere most people head down to the coastal regions to enjoy some fun in the sun and that means taking off your shirts, putting on your bikinis and board shorts… Like she says, you better work bitches 😉
Lets be honest, Britney has definitely bounced back. She’s worked hard on her image, her sound, her appearance and she’s looking gorgeous in this video. It’s nice to see her putting her dance moves into action again. Cool video by director Ben Mor. Share your thoughts in the comment box below.
Sidebar, fifteen years ago the star released her debut single Baby One More Time… I remember it clearly, gosh how time flies.
Check out this awesome South African lyric video. It’s for a song called Where are You Going? and it’s by a band called The Kiffness. The song also features the rocking Mathew Gold. DIG IT!
Who is The Kiffness. Well The Kiffness consists of Dave Scott, who plays trumpet, keys and synths. Mvelo Shandu handles the bass. This is their first single… not too shabby. On the song, Dave said, “I got a surprise email from Mathew saying that he’d be keen to collaborate with me on the track. I’m a fan of his work on Goodluck’s ‘Taking it Easy’ as well as his debut solo single ‘No Ordinary Guy’, so I was very excited to work with him. Luckily Mathew lives round the corner from me, so he was in Kiffness studios the next day. We’re both extremely happy with the end result and can’t wait to see what South Africa thinks of it.”
Kif boys, kif!
