America’s first black president paid tribute to South Africa’s first black president in what was a very moving and special address. Obama brought a tear too many an eye, but he inspired many others with his words in what will go down as one of the most moving and amazing addresses Obama has made to date.
Beyoncé Knowles the incredible. She wins… again!! It’s going to B a big year for Bey no doubt. The Star-Spangled Banner at President Obama’s inauguration and the Superbowl next month. Destiny’s Child album coming next week and her much-awaited solo album since the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy… 2011 might have been the Year of 4, but 2013 is definitely going to be the Year of Bey (and JT) 🙂
Today my favourites nation, besides SA of course, goes to the polls to vote in the Presidential Elections. Will President Barack Obama be voted into the Oval Office once again? I wont even entertain the idea of an alternative here 😉 Do the right thing America, vote Obama! Oh and VOTE!! Check out the lovely Beyoncé’s letter to the president above.
NEW YORK-The following is a statement by Wyclef Jean on today’s
magnitude 7.0 earthquake outside Port-au-Prince, Haiti:
“Haiti today faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an
earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced.
The magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several very strong aftershocks –
struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince.
I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands
will only make this tragedy worse. The over 2 million people in
Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now.
President Obama has already said that the U.S. stands ‘ready to assist’
the Haitian people. The U.S. Military is the only group trained and
prepared to offer that assistance immediately. They must do so as soon
as possible. The international community must also rise to the occasion
and help the Haitian people in every way possible.”
Many people have already reached out to see what they can do right now.
We are asking those interested to please do one of two things: Either
you can use your cell phone to text “Yele” to 501501, which will
automatically donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund (it will be
charged to your cell phone bill), or you can visit http://www.Yele.org and
click on DONATE.

I bet the new and current soldiers who have been deployed to Afghanistan by President Obama will enjoy this video by the Miss Rihanna. I love the way she isn’t shy to push the boundaries like Lady Gaga. Loving the Mickey Mouse headpiece too- different, but I like. The video gets a bit cheeky towards the end of the song- watch and see what I mean 🙂 Young Jeezy also features in this song and this is of course taken off her new album “Rated R”. Anyone got it? What’s it like?
