Love Pink’s new side project, You + Me

2012 was the year P!nk introduced us to The Truth About Love. The album was hugely successful for P!nk; if her ticket sales are anything to go by. The star raked up an estimated $147 million dollars from her tour (the third best selling tour in 2013) and the album has been certified platinum, with over two million copies sold worldwide. That album gave us some the very awesome, epic tunes that we have come to expect from P!nk, but as I mentioned that was a while in 2012. So where has the star been? I heard murmurs when I was in the US about a new side project the star was working on, but that’s all it was until the official announcement was made. That announcement? P!nk’s new project with friend and fellow singer, Dallas Green. The two teamed up to create You + Me and after hearing the first single I’m completely sold.

It’s raw, real and authentic music. Where something like this might be challenging for some artists, it just came so naturally to these two. Watch the making of You + Me in the clip below to find out more about the project, the music. You’ll also get to see some of the making of the record and how it was pretty much done in six days. Crazy!

What I absolutely love about P!nk is the fact that she is so musically gifted. This woman can do anything she puts her mind to…. From massive pop tunes, to a catchy R&B track, to this… the simple, but emotive and powerful tracks you’ll hear in this project. I can’t wait to get my hands on the full album!

Grammys 2014 – red carpet

Music’s biggest night is upon us. This year’s Grammy awards go down from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and the stars are doing their thang on the red carpet. Some of my favourite’s tonight so far include Rita Ora, Paris Hilton (yes, true story), P!nk and the hot mamma to be, Ciara. If you haven’t had enough of Jared Leto this awards season, he’s put aside the acting for the night in favour of his musical talent. He, together with the rest of the 30 Seconds To Mars crew, rocked the red carpet. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis looked stylish tonight. At the Oscars, Golden Globes you’ll see the gents keeping it pretty generic in their black suits and bow ties, but the Grammys are different and thankfully so. The bow ties are there, only this time they’re matched with some colour. That’s what makes this one of the better red carpets to watch.

How do we feel about Madonna’s outfit tonight? I saw a tweet saying is that Madonna’s new boyfriend? I died a little right there… It’s her son by the way.

Aaah Katy and her musical notes and Ciara and her baby bump… The Grammys.

Biggest WTF moment belongs to Slipknot… I have no words:

Taylor Swift is elegant and wise beyond her years. She’s looking great in her “chainmail” Gucci gown.

Full list of 2012 Grammy nominees

The 2012 Grammy nominees were unveiled earlier at the Nominees Concert in LA. It might just be one of the most diverse years in the prestigious award ceremony’s history, well if the Song Of The Year category is anything to go by. I think it’s great. Adele is arguably the biggest name to come out of 2011 and her album 21 is the big one for the year, so it’s great to see her nominated in several categories.

That’s just a list of three. More will be revealed soon. What do you have on your list for 2011?

P!nk’s new album is rocking!!!

P!nk’s new album, Greatest Hits…So Far!!! Is definitely one for the collection. If you’re a fan, you probably have most of, if not all the tracks and albums, but if you haven’t, you’re bound to be converted to a full on P!nk fan. She started out back in 2000 with her album, Can’t Take Me Home. That album catapulted her into the limelight, with hits like There You Go and You Make Me Sick. Her second album was more edgy, pop-rock-ish called Missundaztood. That was released in 200.

Her third album Try This was released in 2003. It was her least successful album, but it still scored a top ten spot on the charts, it sold over three millions copies and it earned her a Grammy Award too in November 2003. Her fourth album, called “I’m Not Dead”, was released in April 2006. The album generated several hit singles, including “Stupid Girls” (which I still have a good chuckle to), “U + Ur Hand” and “Who Knew”, both of which hit the number one spot. In 2008 album, Funhouse saw hits like “So What” and “Sober” soar to the top once again. She has been named as one of the most successful artists of this decade and Forbes Magazine voted her the 27th most powerful celebrity in the world, when she raked in over $40million dollars from her world tour last year. Check out the tracklisting for her latest offering below:

01. Get The Party Started
