Empire season 2 is going to rock – No Doubt About It

Summer’s coming – or Winter for those of you up north. With the new seasons come new seasons of some of the biggest shows on TV. What do we have to look forward to? How To Get Away With Murder, Scandal (The Fixer), The Walking Dead, and of course my favourite, Empire! I follow most of the stars from Empire on Instagram and they’re just as excited about the new season as we are.

The first song off the new season has dropped and you can have a listen to it below:

Can you hear Ne-Yo’s influence? I can also hear a little bit of Usher (8701 album) in Jussie’s voice. I love the track – barring Mr. Worldwide, snore.

2014 Golden Globes – Tina Fey, Amy Poehler opening monologue

In case you missed it, here’s a look at the 2014 Golden Globes opening monologue by hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. See who they lay into, watch the ‘dramatic’ Scandal (The Fixer) intro and see what they have to say about George Clooney. Hilarious, brilliant. Love these two.

2014 Golden Globes nominees list

The nominations for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards. Contrary to the SAG nominations yesterday, Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom has scored a couple of Golden Globe nods. I’m shocked that Naomi Harris hasn’t been nominated for her role in the movie. She was outstanding, convincing and I’m quite disappointed actually. At least Idris Elba has been nominated for his role in the film 😉 Big up to Lupita Nyong’o, who has once again been nominated for her role in 12 Years A Slave.

On the TV front, firm favourites Big Bang Theory, Modern Family are up for awards in the comedy section. Best Performance by an Actress in TV Drama nominees include: Julianna Margulies, Tatiana Maslany, Taylor Schilling, Kerry Washington, & Robin Wright. No Claire Danes this time around… It’s Kerry’s time I feel, but Julianna is always praised for her role in The Good Wife and we can’t rule out Robin Wright for House of Cards. See the rest of the nominees below:
