Did anyone head through to Centurion this past weekend for Castle Lite’s Extra Cold Music concert? The concert, which was produced by Timbaland featured the creme de la creme of South Africa’s music talent, as well as Wiz Khalifa, Nas and of course Timbo himself. I’m told the performance Nas gave with the Illmatic orchestra was off the hook. Bummed I missed it, but I did get to see him the last time he was here. If you were there, share your thoughts with us.
Can we just take a moment for Castle Lite. We think they couldn’t bigger than Drizzy, Ye and Wale, but then they go and rope Timbaland into their Extra Cold Music campaign for 2014. This June, Timbaland will act as the Executive Producer on the Extra Cold Music Concert at SuperSport Park in Centurion. He has been involved in some of the biggest records to date, so be prepared for magic come the 7th of June.
If the musical line up is anything to go by, the rest of the concert will be an unforgettable experience. Want to know who else is coming? Get this… NAS is coming. SAMA winners and now nominees again, Mi Casa will be Turning You On. So will Spoek Mathambo, Black Coffee, Zakes Bantwini, DJ Clock with Beatenberg, and Reason. There will also be an #ICE collaboration between Timbaland and a local South African artist, who the renowned producer will personally choose to collaborate with for this event. WHO WOULD YOU WANT HIM TO WORK WITH? Imagine a Black Coffee, Timbaland track with one of our very talented singers on the vocals?

Justin Timberlake fans (me included), you’ll be stoked to hear that JT will be releasing The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 on the 30th of September. The first single off that album is called “Take Back The NIght”. With this soulful, funky track, the star has once again teamed up with Timbaland and Jerome “J-Roc” Harmon. You can listen to it above… Warning, your foot will tap to this track! If it doesn’t well… sorry for you 😉
If you’re a die-hard, you can pre-order the album on the iTunes Store. Just go to itunes.com/JT. You can also get the The 20/20 Experience – The Complete Experience, which has all 21 tracks from Mr. Timberlake. Look out for a special surprise from Justin on this one. “I originally recorded a massive amount of material and decided on the 20 tracks that I wanted on the album over a year ago. But, when I was mixing and going through all of the songs there were so many that I loved – I couldn’t resist… I had to throw in something extra on the 2nd half.”

There’s also an absolutely awesome track from him and Jay-Z out too. It’s called Holy Grail and holy moley is it awesome!! Listen below:
I’m desperate to get my hands on Jigga’s Magna Carta Holy Grail album, but I’ve forgotten my stupid security questions on iTunes and it’s not as easy to reset them as one would expect. If you have any tips, holler!

YES! YES! YES! This is how you start a Monday morning… Justin Timberlake has released his new single called “Suit and Tie”. Getting a little bit of help on the track from Jay-Z. Winning!
Read his open letter below:
An Open Letter to you (the fans):
I hope this gets to you the right way. It’s the only way I know to do it. Some people may criticize me for the last 3 days. But it was fun, right?? Right?!?! Besides, I’d rather speak directly to all of you. And, who can knock me for having a little bit of fun with it?
Well… No more teasing. Although, it was A LOT of fun. (Did I mention that I’m having fun with this?? Ha!)
*Makes a serious face*
So, here goes:
This year is an exciting one for me. As you probably have heard through the “grapevine,” I’m gearing up for a big 2013.
Back in June of last year, I quietly started working on what is now, my next journey with that thing I love called MUSIC.
The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn’t expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs. It was probably the best time I’ve had in my career… Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process.
What I came up with is something I couldn’t be more excited about! It is full of inspiration that I grew up listening to and some newfound muses that I’ve discovered along the way.
I’m calling it “The 20/20 Experience,” and it’s coming out this year.
I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it.
That’s all I’m giving you for now… I know, I know! Again, with the teasing!!!
Get ready. This is going to be fun (well, at least it is for me).
CLUB BANGER ALERT!!! Put your Hands Up In The Air with Timbaland and Ne-Yo. Awesome track

Two weeks ago one of the world’s leading DJ’s hit South African shores again. This time, he brought his friend Akon along. The two were out here as part of the St Yves Music Festival, where they performed in Cape Town and in Jozi. Ahead of the Jozi gig, I got to meet up with him to find out more about what to expect at the gigs. We also chatted about his new album, Nothing But The Beat and working with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Timbaland, Usher and many many more. Check out the interview above.
So many of you will know that I’m a big fan of Nelly Furtado. Have been since her “I’m like a bird” days. I saw her take a completely different musical journey on her sophomore album ‘Folklore’ and I watched her let it all “Loose,” jamming opposite Timbaland and JT in “Promiscuous” & “Say It Right”. And now I’m listening to her first Spanish album, Mi Plan. Love it… well the sound. To be honest I have no idea what she’s singing about (note to self, take those Spanish lessons) but there’s something so intriguing about the Spanish culture, the music and the people. I be loving it! So above you will see the second single off the album called “Mas” and lucky for us English speakers, there are subtitles 🙂 Enjoy!
So whilst interviewing Keri Hilson earlier this week, the star made reference to the new material she’s been working on with Timbaland for his new album, “Shock Value 2”. She said she’d work on about three of the tracks, and well… one of them has been leaked onto the net. It features Ms Hilson and Jay-Z and it’s called Rumours. Nice one!
The first official single off that album is called “Morning After Dark” and I love it! It features French artist, SoShy. Ryan Seacrest premiered it on his show this week. Take a listen above.
This interview will go down as one of my favourites. What a lovely woman! So smart, super talented and wow she’s beautiful. I don’t know how visible it it, but I was nervous to the max, I obviously calmed down as the interview went on, but yeah man it’s Miss Keri Baby! If you haven’t got yourselves a copy of the album yet, be sure to get one. It’s really cool and if you’re an R&B lover, you’re going to love this one! So next up for Miss Keri?
– American Music Awards. She’s nominated in two categories, so we’ll keep y’all posted.
– Timbaland’s new album, Shock Value 2. It’s due for release next month and Keri’s worked on 3 of the tracks. We all know how Shock Value (1) was… so this one’s bound to be as good.
Keep up-to-date with Keri on twitter, @MissKeriBaby.
