Clifton Shores is coming

The Hills might be over, but this show could be the next best thing. It’s MTV’s latest reality TV drama called Clifton Shores. It shows a bunch of young American women moving down to South Africa for what appears to be a once in a lifetime opportunity, to be party hosts. They’re working closely for their billionaire boss. It has all the makings of a great reality show, that isn’t scripted *coughs*. Beautiful women, bulky, toned guys, drama between friends all set on the magnificent backdrop that is Cape Town, the Mother City, South Africa. Clifton beaches are amazing but who knew they could hold so much drama too 🙂 The show is expected to start later this year on MTV. As soon as I have more details on the cast and the broadcast details, I’ll bring them to you.

Happy 4th of July

To all my American friends colleagues and to the rest of you who I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting, happy 4th of July to you. A friend said on Twitter last night that she was celebrating her first 4th of July in the US by having a good old BBQ. I can’t wait for my first 4th of July 🙂 Enjoy celebrating the Declaration of Independence in 1776 – and of course your day off today!

Nicki Minaj going on tour with Britney

Britney Spears- Femme Fatale tourIt’s official: Nicki Minaj is going on tour with Britney Spears. The news about Britney’s Femme Fatale tour was announced in LA yesterday. It was announced the ‘Moment’s For Life’ singer would be joining Britney on the North American leg of the tour. This as Enrique Iglesias pulled out of the tour citing “scheduling issues”, when in actual fact many believe it was his ego that couldn’t handle opening for Britney. Nicki’s a better fit though wouldn’t you say? Here’s the official release:

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 12, 2011) – Pop music trendsetter Britney Spears, who has continually captivated crowds around the world with her live music events, today confirms special guest Nicki Minaj will join the Femme Fatale touring event of the summer.  The all female line-up includes Jessie and the Toy Boys and Nervo on every tour stop.  Spears has prepared an extraordinary show in support of the North American tour that begins on June 16th in Sacramento at the Power Balance Pavilion.   Tickets for select markets go on sale beginning April 30th at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com.

It’s Splittsville for Ryan Reynolds & Scarlett Johansson

They’ve been referred to as one of the hottest couples in the world and it’s no surprise why. When actors Ryan Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson got married two years ago, I thought to myself, hmm, this doesn’t seem real. It was like Barbie and Ken come to life and there wasn’t really a build up to them walking down the aisle, as is the case with other celebrity weddings (like Nicole Richie and Joel Madden for instance).

Anyway the latest from Hollywood is that Ryan and Scarlett have split and will be divorcing soon. According to celebrity website TMZ, the split was amicable. “After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
Sad news, but it would appear as if things are as good as they can be with the two. It’s really strange though because while Ryan gushed about Scarlett in the September issue of GQ, we never really saw the two together much. Or is that just me?

Been quite a week, a month for breakups hey:
Zac and Vanessa, Tony and Eva, these two and more… crazy Hollywood!

Attention suitors- Taylor Swift wants a BF

And by BF, I don’t mean a Best Friend, I mean a Boyfriend. The 19-year-old says music has always been a priority for her, but now she’s looking to start dating again (according to Bang Showbiz). “I have always been really busy, so finding a date was never easy.
I’m better on my own, moving around and doing career things. But if someone comes along who is right for me I will definitely go for it.” Reality TV in the making? The winner wins Taylor’s heart and a love song written and sung by the starlet? Hmmmm, Imma get my TV pitching on 🙂 Oh and Kanye wouldn’t be on the list of judges or suitors… Imma let you finish Joe Jonas, but I am the best potential BF for Taylor, I am” Haha. Good luck Taylor!

Kelly Clarkson covers Alanis/Kings Of Leon

A friend sent me this link…. It’s of the orginal American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson covering Alanis Morissette’s “That I Would Be Good” and of course the Kings Of Leon “Use Somebody. WOW she’s good. Our Idols should focus less on being photographed and more on singing… learn from Kelly. Kelly Clarkson #winner!

Paramore also recently did a cover of the Kings Of Leon…. and that cover is also a winner:

UK star singer/ songwriter Joss Stone will release her fourth studio album, Colour Me Free, on October 20th in the US and the 2nd of November in other territories across the globe. The first single from the album is “Free Me.”

The album was written and recorded at Mama Stone’s, which is a live music venue Stone’s mother runs in Wellington, England. She’s teamed up with producers Jonathan Shorten and Conner Reeves, with whom she worked with on her 2004 platinum-certified album, Mind, Body & Soul.

On the album she says, “I woke up one morning and wanted to make an album. It’s very, very raw — basically a bunch of musicians, writers, and myself just jamming. The album was not dictated or forced. It was an organic process where each musician was given the freedom to create their sound. It’s an honest and accurate representation of where I am as an artist and person right now. I am really proud of the music and excited to have people hear the songs.”

The album features the Jeff Beck and Sheila E. Raphael Saadiq, rapper Nas and saxophonist David Sanborn.
