Big up to M-Net Movies. The channel will this weekend pay tribute to the late Paul Walker, who was tragically killed in a car accident at the weekend. Here’s the information about their plans for the 8th of December:
In loving memory of the action movie star, Paul Walker, who died in a fatal car crash last week, M-Net Movies Showcase has changed its schedule for Sunday, 8 December.
The Fast and the Furious will be screened on M-Net Movies Showcase, channel 108 on DStv, at 14:15, with 2 Fast 2 Furious, following at 16:05.
Says M-Net’s Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard: “The world has been shocked by the sudden loss of this beloved action movie star and with this last-minute scheduling change, M-Net Movies Showcase is paying tribute to the man who brought magic to our screens.”
At the time of his death Paul was shooting scenes for the new upcoming “Fast & Furious 7″ film, which was due to be released in July 2014.
Universal Studios has decided to shut down production indefinitely following Paul’s death.
There’s just one week to go until Celine Dion releases her brand new album called Loved Me Back To Life. The star has been releasing some of the new tracks on YouTube for fans to listen to and here’s the latest one:
It’s a great collaboration between her and one of the nicest guys in the music business, Mr. Ne-Yo! It’s called Incredible and after a couple of listens, I’m certain it will be just that to me! Looking forward to hearing the full album.

It’s a new week and with that comes new music. Welcome Britney Spears into that equation and you better Work Bitch… HOT SUMMER SONG ALERT!!!
We were sold down the river yesterday by that twerk fail video yesterday. Apparently many suspected it was a spoof… I like how they all say that after the news broke that it was in fact a fake video. Caitlin Heller, the ‘victim’ in question actually goes by the name of Daphne Avalon. She’s a stunt woman in Hollywood.
She together with talk show host, Jimmy Kimmel got together and shot this video about two months ago. They wanted to “let the magic happen.” And boy oh boy, did the magic happen.
Jimmy Kimmel and ‘Caitlin’/ Daphne… you’re #winning!
A lot of people are going to marking November 8th off in their diaries. Why? Well because it’s the day Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World hits theatres. The film’s first trailer hit the web this week at YouTube‘s for Geek Week and you can check it out above.

I got to Hangout with Big Brother: The Chase evictees, Annabel and Sulu yesterday. Were you following them in the house? Check out their thoughts on Big Brother, their fellow BBA housemates and the like in the clips below:
If only I was a bit younger… sigh! Anyway, sob story done 😉 Aspiring VJs, it’s your chance to shine… MTV Base is looking for a new VJ and this is your last chance, as auditions roll into Jozi today. No pressure fellow Jozi residents, but the City of Gold needs to outshine the rest of the country ya hear? Good!
The auditions are taking place at Melrose Arch today. You’ll need to impress the very talented judging panel, comprised of comedian Joey Rasdien, your Queen B, Bonang Matheba and of course the original VJ winner, Sizwe Dhlomo. You know they’re young and entertaining, so that should be a good indicator as to what you need to bring to the auditions.
If you win the competition, not only will you get a cushy gig of a lifetime at one of the most iconic brands in the world, but you’ll be driving there in style. There’s a Citroën DS3 Cabrio up for grabs too. Not too shabby huh?
Here are a few things to note: Registration for the MTV Base VJ Search auditions starts from 9:00 am on Saturday 27 July. Applicants are encouraged to be on-site early as auditions will take place on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants must be South African residents between the ages of 18-25 with fluent English and no criminal record. Prior presenting or TV experience is not required. Applicants must bring valid ID with them and be available to participate in the elimination phases of the competition between 30 July and 7 August. For full terms and conditions, to download the audition script and to view online submissions, please go to www.mtvbase.com and follow the link to the MTV Base VJ Search microsite. To upload a video entry, please upload a 30 second video clip (.m4v, .mp4 format) to www.mtvbase.com, or send your clip as an attachment or email a link to your video on YouTube to email@example.com.
If you want to know one thing about it, it’s that I always wanted to be an MTV VJ. I had aspirations of being a VJ on the hugely popular show, TRL… I mean who didn’t want to interview some of the biggest names in the game, live and direct from Times Square in New York City (only the best city in the world might I add). Sadly, the closest I got to that was actually being an audience member back in 2007 and shortly after the MTV pulled the plug on the show.
The dream of working in NYC is still there and maybe it will be more behind the scenes at MTV, but that’s a side note. If you’re young, funky, fresh and fly and you want to work at MTV Base then here is your chance. The music network is once again embarking on its VJ search and you could be the chosen one. Auditions take place in Umhlanga this weekend and if you think you have what it takes to join the likes of Sizwe, Nomuzi Mabena and many others then head on down to Gateway Theatre of Shopping this Saturday. Yesterday I tested out Google’s Hangout On Air. I, together with my colleagues, got to chat to the Big Brother The Chase housemates, who were evicted on Sunday evening. Check out our interview with Huddah and Denzel below:
